Community Code of Conduct

The Entertainment Law is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment for all students and researchers. We are committed to a harassment-free experience regardless of background, experience level, or identity. We do not tolerate harassment or unprofessional behavior in any form.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all Entertainment Law spaces, including the Discussion Forums, Teaching Materials comments, and direct communication with instructors or moderators. Participants violating these rules may be penalized or removed from the platform at the discretion of the administration.

Appropriate Behavior

To maintain a positive academic environment, we expect all members to:

  • Participate Authentically: Share knowledge and ask questions in a way that encourages peer learning.
  • Professional Representation: Maintain a professional tone in all forum posts and interactions.
  • Inclusive Language: Use welcoming language that respects fellow students’ diverse perspectives.
  • Collaborate First: Attempt to solve academic disagreements through constructive discussion before escalating to conflict.
  • Respect Privacy: Do not share private communications or fellow students’ personal data without explicit consent.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

  • Harassment & Discrimination: Use of demeaning or discriminatory language related to identity, race, or level of experience.
  • Academic Disruption: Excessive trolling, sustained disruption of forum threads, or posting off-topic “spam” content.
  • Personal Attacks: Insults or threats directed at any member of the community.
  • Doxxing: Posting identifiable information of others without their permission.
  • Malicious Communication: Sharing content with the intent to harm the reputation of another participant.

Reporting & Procedures

If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct, please contact the site administration immediately via the Contact Form on the homepage. All reports will be handled with confidentiality.

Enforcement

Participants asked to stop harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Moderators reserve the right to:

  1. Close or Edit Threads: To keep discussions productive and safe.
  2. Issue Warnings: For first-time or minor violations.
  3. Account Suspension: As a last resort for repeated or severe violations of these community standards.
